Matt and glossy lacquered PU painting cycle

Support: MDF

  • – Preparation of the support with insulator for MDF:
    o LBP541 cat. 50% with LCB046, dil. 10-20% with LZD091
    – About 2-3 hours later at room temperature slight sand or schotch-brite:
    – Application of 2 or more coats of white PU sealer, spaced out of about 1 hour :
    o LBP578 cat. at 30% in weight with LCB178 dil. 10-20% with LZD091- About 5-6 hours later, preferably the day after, sanding :

    – MATT TOP-COAT
    o Sanding with 280-320 grain paper
    – Application of the lacquered top-coat:
    o LFP40x range cat. at 50% with LCB185 dil. 20-30% with LZD091, one coat
    o LFP range of tyntometric colours cat. at 50% with LCB185 dil. 20-30% with LZD091 – 1 or 2 coats according to the colour
    – Wherever a particular resistance to yellowing is requested it is suggested the use of the same top-coat with a non-yellowing catalyst LCB190

    – GLOSSY TOP COAT
    o LGP501 cat. at 100% with non-yellowing LCB131, dil.10-20% with LZD083 1 or 2 coats*
    o LGP range of tyntometric colour cat. at 100% with LCB070, dil. 10-20% with LZD083, 1 or 2 coats*
    – The glossy top-coat can be brushed and polished 2-3 days after the last application with specific products.

    The preparation of the sealer as above described is valid also for all the cycles that include special effect top-coat as :
    o Texturized
    o Mother-of-pearl
    o Metallized
    o cracklè effect
    o etc…

    * The application of 2 coats it is always suggested in case of the glossy top-coat in order to assure the cover of colour and hide some possible sanding defects. The application of 2 coats it is also highly recommended in case the glossy should be brushed and polished.
    The use of alternative, but similar products to the ones mentioned in this working cycle does not jeopardise the final result. The evaluation based on costs, drying time, verticality, etc. can be influenced by different commercial or technical reason.
